If your shingles look like the left photo — fading, dry, brittle, minor granule loss, or algae streaks — and the roof is not leaking, it may qualify. We inspect first. Treatment is only for asphalt shingles that are still suitable.
Roof Shield Rejuvenation does not fix active leaks, missing shingles, rotten decking, or major structural issues. Those roofs need replacement, and we will say so.

How the process works

Roof Inspection
We inspect covering, flashing, ventilation, and overall condition on the house. This is a look at whether the roof can be treated — not a promise that it can.

Roof Evaluation
We confirm the asphalt shingles are suitable for treatment. Roofs with structural problems, significant deterioration, active leaks, or missing shingles may require replacement instead. If replacement is the better option, we will tell you honestly.

Roof Shield Rejuvenation Treatment
On qualifying roofs, Roof Shield Rejuvenation is applied as a penetrating treatment designed to rejuvenate asphalt shingles by restoring flexibility and helping restore granule adhesion.

Final Inspection
We walk the finished roof with you and review the work. Product paperwork that applies to your specific job is provided at that time.
What Roof Shield Rejuvenation is
A penetrating treatment — not a coating
Roof Shield Rejuvenation is designed to rejuvenate qualifying asphalt shingles by restoring flexibility and helping restore granule adhesion. It is not a coating that paints over problems, and not a repair for structural roof damage.
Florida sun dries the oils out of asphalt. Heat and humidity accelerate it. Dry shingles get brittle: loose granules, cracking, curling edges. On a roof that is still a candidate, treatment may be appropriate. On a roof that is not, replacement is the honest recommendation.
Independent laboratory testing
ASTM tests on the Roof Shield rejuvenator
Roof Reboot — the rejuvenator manufactured by Roof Shield LLC and used in Roof Shield Rejuvenation — was tested by Intertek Building & Construction in York, Pennsylvania. Report No. N3762.01-106-31 R0, issued April 28, 2022. Samples were provided by the manufacturer. The laboratory states that the report does not constitute certification or endorsement, and that results apply to the samples tested.
Tests: ASTM E96 water vapor transmission (desiccant method), ASTM D3462 Section 8.1.7 pliability, and ASTM D3462 Section 8.1.9 weight of displaced granules (per ASTM D4977). Four sample groups: 7-year-old shingles treated with Roof Reboot, new untreated shingles, 15-year-old shingles treated with Roof Reboot, and untreated 15-year-old shingles.

- ASTM E96 has no pass/fail requirement. Results are reported as obtained. Treated 15-year-old samples averaged 0.029 US perms; untreated 15-year-old samples averaged 29.517 US perms.
- Treated 7-year, new untreated, and treated 15-year samples met the 1.0 gram granule-loss limit. Untreated 15-year samples did not.
- All four groups met ASTM D3462 pliability (no cracking that exposed reinforcement; no fractures through the specimen).
- These lab results do not guarantee a particular service life, extra years, cost savings, or that every roof will match the samples tested. FarFan still evaluates the house first.
Questions we hear first
Service life after treatment depends on the roof’s current condition, original installation, and exposure. We do not quote a set number of extra years on this website. The evaluation is how we decide whether treatment or replacement is the better path.
